We’ve been wanting to support my 90 year old mother aging in place, but were worried the house she has lived in for 54 years had some hidden hazards. So we contacted Darrell at AiPO for an assessment. He arrived prepared and began with an interview, followed by a thorough assessment. His report was detailed and comprehensive, giving us areas to focus on and some worker recommendations. It gave us peace of mind that we could support my mother’s choice to stay at home–and prevent injuries that might affect her health and quality of life. We’re so grateful to Aging in Place Oregon!

From Our Founder

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always believed that “there’s no place like home.”

I don’t want to end up in Assisted Living if I can help it. I’d prefer to stay in my own home as long as possible. I’m guessing you do too. The smartest approach to growing older is making plans ahead of needs, while at the same time making your home better for everyday living before that time comes.

Preventing a fall can be life-changing.

According to the CDC, Falls among adults aged 65 and older are common, costly, and preventable. Falls are the leading cause of fatal and nonfatal injuries among older adults. While not all falls result in an injury, about 37% of those who fall reported an injury that required medical treatment or restricted their activity for at least one day, resulting in an estimated nine million fall injuries. Once you fall, your chance of falling again DOUBLES.
